Obituary

William E Murphy, 97, of Mexico, MO, formerly of Moberly, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020. He was born June 2, 1923 in Clark, MO to the union of John and Anna Nichols (Pitney) Murphy. He married Virginia Keith on September 2, 1957 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and she preceded him in death on March 16, 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents, a son Jamie and his sister Katherine Irene Goerlitz.

Survivors include his children, Father Michael Murphy of Salisbury, MO, Teresa Wallbank of Portsmith, VA, William Murphy of Fulton, MO and Maureena Tucker of Jefferson City, MO, other relatives and friends.

He served in WWII and the Korean War prior to receiving his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy.
