William Michael “Bill” Dalton, 59, of Moberly, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022. He was born in Batavia, IL, to Eugene and Arvilla “Bunnie” (Carlson) Dalton.
At 8 years old William moved from Batavia, IL to Moberly and a year later moved to Huntsville. After graduating from Westran High School, he graduated the University of Missouri-Rolla. Bill married Roberta Jacobs, November 11, 1989, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly, she survives of the home. He worked for Orscheln Industries for 35 years, starting on the grounds crew and advancing to chemical engineer. William was an active member of Knights of Columbus and a collector of hot wheels, coins, and books. He was an avid reader of classic literature and enjoyed playing the trumpet in the Moberly Community Band with his daughters. Bill also enjoyed playing with his grandsons, Luca and Owen.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by three children, Sarah Dalton and Tylor Zerbonia of Hannibal, MO, Emily Dalton and her fiancé Kyle Land, and Katie Dalton, both of Moberly; a brother Jeff Dalton and his wife Leanna, in laws, Marie Adkins and her husband Jim, George Jacobs and his wife Suzy and James Jacobs and his wife Carolyn; two grandchildren and two bonus grandchildren, Luca Zerbonia, Owen Zerbonia, Ayden Land, and Henry Land; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Pius X School Foundation.
Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at a visitation 3:00-6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Cater Funeral Home, beginning with a rosary service. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the St. Pius X Catholic Church. Committal Prayer and burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Moberly.
