Wanda Evon Bruner, 86, of Moberly, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024. She was born, February 10, 1938, in Olney to the union of Paul Dawson and Irene (Teacutter) Graves.
She graduated from Vandalia High School in 1956 and went on to marry Lee Smith, Sept. 22, 1957, in Vandalia, Mo. They had two children, Greg and Joan Smith. She married Leon Bruner in 2003. She lived a full life and loved to travel, go camping, and visited many historical places. She was the best seamstress around and could do anything from mending and altering clothes to sewing dresses for herself and children to making bridesmaid dresses. Wanda loved to bake cookies and cakes for all of the holidays and birthdays. She took art classes at Moberly Area Jr. College and loved to oil paint and draw pictures, listening to music, singing, dancing and going bowling.
Wanda was very active in the Moberly Trinity Methodist Church and Vandalia Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school classes, vacation bible school, sang in the choir, was involved in United Methodist Womens organization.
Wanda is survived by her husband Everett “Leon” Bruner, her children, Greg Smith and his wife Janive of Huntsville, Joan Brunner and her husband Bill of New Franklin, grandson, Joseph Lee Smith, of Huntsville, step granddaughters, Gentry Bohm and her husband Shawn, Kenie Pool, Pacina Pool, step great grandsons, Isaac and Isaiah Bohm, Link Fennel, sister, Kathy Blevins of Auxvasse, numerous nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by brother, Curtis Graves, sister, Lavon (Graves) Colbert, granddaughter, Lacey Jo Smith, step grandson, Joshua Bruner, and brother in laws, Tom Blevins, and Joe Colbert and a sister in law, Villa (Righter) Graves.
Memorials may be made to the Lacey Jo Smith early childhood development, Westran school, Huntsville, Mo.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel, followed by Funeral services honoring and celebrating Wanda’s life. Committal prayer and burial took place in the Vandalia Cemetery, Vandalia , Mo.
