Obituary

Wanda Sue Fristoe, 91, passed away peacefully at her home, June 12, 2024. She was born January 28, 1933, to Harold and Nadine (Dailey) Baker, but was raised by her paternal grandparents, Squire Baker and Lydia (Colley) Baker in Rucker, Missouri. She attended the one room, Naylor School House in grade school, and graduated from Harrisburg R-VIII in 1951.

She was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Fristoe on December 15, 1952 in Moberly. They had three sons. She was a hard worker and held jobs at various factories and dime stores. She gained her CNA certification from Moberly Area Community College and was employed for several years at North Village. The last job before she retired was at a local daycare, which she enjoyed.

She liked to watch her daytime soaps - her favorite being “The Young and the Restless.” She was also a fan of game shows, Mama’s Family, and Judge Judy. She loved animals and found much happiness in her great-grandchildren. She was a member of Southern Randolph Christian Chapel in Higbee, Missouri and was strongly devoted to her family and to the Lord.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Robert (Ricco) Fristoe, Jack Fristoe, and her husband, Bob.

She is survived by her middle son, James (Butch) Fristoe, of the home, a special granddaughter that she raised, (Doug) and Tabetha Waite, and her two daughters, Mallorie and Alaina. Two other granddaughters live in Idaho – (Kevin) and Barbie Privatsky and their children, Lucas and Shayne, and Tiffany Warrell and her children, Juan, Syrena, and Bri’son. Two half siblings - a brother, Edwin Baker and a sister, (Bob) and Linda Reed.

Toward the end of her life, she was under the care of St. Croix Hospice and she found special bonds with the preacher, Mark, and the “music man,” Harry. They were her favorite entertainers.

She was a wonderful lady to be around and didn’t have any trouble letting you know if you were doing something wrong. She lived a long life, but will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family c/o James “Butch” Fristoe.

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation that was held in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel, followed by funeral services honoring and celebrating Wanda’s life.   Committal prayer and burial took place in the Perche Cemetery.
