Veronica Marie “Roni” Wood (nee Allred), 71, of Moberly passed away peacefully at her home, April 21, 2026 with her beloved husband Stan by her side, after a long illness.
Roni was born in Great Lakes, Illinois, June 4, 1954, to Theodore Neal and Mary Madelaine (Delfs) Allred. She grew up in Waukegan, Illinois until she moved to Macon, Missouri with her family. She met the love of her life, Stanley Dean Wood, and they were united in marriage on December 17,1971. They would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this year.
Roni and Stanley moved to the San Diego, California area in 1985, where they raised their son Robert. After graduating collage Veronica was an office manager. She loved to travel and did so frequently with her family visiting many wonderful places across the United States. Roni was a funny and an entertaining person with a very approachable and cordial personality. She always loved a lively conversation with her friends and family.
Roni is survived by her husband Stanley of the home; one son Robert Neal Wood, his wife Rachel, and grandchildren, Trenton and Amilia, of Maryville, Missouri; granddaughters, Elisabeth of Pennsylvania and Natalie of California; one great-granddaughter of California; many cousins and extended family in Illinois, Missouri and California.
She was welcomed in Heaven by her parents, her “favorite” mother-in-law, Evelyn Miles and her beloved aunts, Marieanne Boyd and Lulu Miller.
A celebration of Roni’s life will be held at a later date.
