Velma Dawson, 89, of Moberly, passed away Tuesday, March 08, 2022. She was born June 19, 1932 in Santa Rosa, TX to the union of Merritt and Nellie (Lyman) Hulme.
Velma enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard, going to auctions, cooking, embroidering, crocheting, quilting, diamond art and bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Grover Hackett and Lawrence Dawson, sisters Marian Downing and Carol Winteroth and a daughter in law Terri Hackett.
She is survived by her children John Hackett and Rhonda Kuhler both of Moberly, Robert Hackett of Macon, Lawrence Dawson and wife Vicky, Richard Dawson and wife Melody, Kenny Dawson and wife Molly and Keith Dawson and wife Christy all of Centralia, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, sisters Corrine Mauderer and Doris Hamilton both of Traer, IA, brother Allen Hulme and wife Marguerite of Traer, IA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held at Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services honoring and celebrating Velma’s life followed. Committal prayer and burial took place at Memorial Park Cemetery.
