Utha M. Elsberry, 84, of Madison, MO, passed away May 25, 2025. She was born March 5, 1941 in Ash, MO to Byron and Helen (Daily) Alexander.
As a local beautician, Utha heard many stories from her customers and made her feel like she was part of her family. Even though being a private person, she was a great listener and loved her community and customers very much. She also loved the Missouri Tigers basketball and Cardinals baseball.
Utha is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard Elsberry, of Madison, MO, a daughter Susan Johnston and her husband Denny, of Madison, MO, a granddaughter Faith Farris, of Fredericktown, MO, a great grandson William Farris, of Ste. Genevieve, MO, a great-great granddaughter Eleanor Farris, of Ste. Genevieve, MO, one sister Wanda Graves, of Moberly, MO, two brothers Larry Alexander, of Macon, MO and Keith Alexander, of Moberly, MO, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Franklin and Bobby Alexander.
Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at a visitation to be held Thursday, May 29, 2025, 4 – 7 PM at the Cater Funeral Home. Funeral services honoring and celebrating Utha’s life will be Friday, May 30, 2025 at 1PM in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayer and burial will follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Madison, MO.
