Obituary

On Tuesday, January 12, 2021 Russell Franklin Bolden, loving father of two children, passed away at the age of 81.  Russell was born March, 19, 1939 in Moberly, MO to Bernie and Rachel (White) Bolden.  He was in construction and a self-employed carpenter for the past 53 years.  He married Julia Kirkendall on July 9, 1965.  They have two daughters, Tina and Teresa.

Russell was extremely talented at his craft as many friends can attest.  His projects still reside in many homes today. He was always willing to lend a hand to a friend in need. He touched many lives over the course of his career and his generosity of his craft will always be remembered.

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and missed very few TV games.  He also liked to listen to bluegrass/old country music and spending time with his dog.

Russell loved to travel and see new things.  He never hesitated to go on trips with Teresa or Tina and their families.  He loved going places he had never been.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Julia, brothers William (Bud) Bolden, Tom Bolden, sisters Dorothy Stevenson, Mary Bolden, Shelby Bolden  He is survived by his daughters Tina (Jeff) Bealmer of Huntsville, MO and Teresa (Scott) Douglas of Moberly, MO.  He has two grandsons Nathan (Jennifer) Bealmer of Appleton, ME and Gage Bealmer of Huntsville, MO.  He also has 4 great grandchildren, Kamryn, Cayden, Kennedy and Carter Bealmer of Appleton, ME and sister Betty Bolden of Madison. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Russell Bolden Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be for a student in building technology interested in construction. 

A visitation and service honoring Russell’s life was held in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayer and burial followed in the Sugar Creek Cemetery.
