Russell Minnis

Russell W. Minnis, 65, of Higbee passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, May 21, 2023.  He was born, March 12, 1958 to the union of Wendell “Dean” and Mary (James) Minnis.

Russell spent his life driving a semi and working on all things that can be repaired with two hands. His best talents by far was his ability to make people smile and taking care of his greatest love, his wife. He’d quite literally give someone the shirt off of his back if it would help them. He loved spending time with family during the few days each week he was home. In his downtime he would troll TikTok videos for hours and make sure he shared all of his favorite videos with all those he loved. Let’s also not forget to mention that he was the person who could talk on the phone for hours to help his time in the drivers seat pass by. We will miss his contagious laugh, reassuring words, and his perfect hugs. 

He married Betsy Jennings, June 1, 1985 in Moberly and she survives , also surviving are his children, Angela Tesino of Higbee, Melissa Christy and her husband Geoff of Moberly, and Johnathan Minnis of Higbee, 8 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Renee Bozarth of Bucklin and Reta Minnis of Meadeville, nieces, nephews,  his mother-in- law, Erma Jennings of Moberly other relatives and friends.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Larry Dean and Brian Scott Minnis.

Words of support may be shared with the family at a memorial visitation to be held Friday, June 2, 2023, 4-6 pm at the Moberly Masonic Lodge, 111 N 4th St., Moberly.

Following the visitation a potluck style dinner will be available, please bring a side if able.
