Ronnie L. Norris Sr., 76, of Moberly, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021. He was born August 13, 1945 in Correctionville, Iowa to Murl and Lizzie (Ferguson) Norris.
He married Doris Hess, July 8, 1966 in Moberly, MO and she preceded him in death, April, 18, 1998. Also preceding him in death were his parents, a son Ronnie “Doodle” Norris, eight brothers, two sisters, a great grandchild, and a special friend Mae Soto.
He is survived by his children; Mike Norris and his wife Kerry of Warrenton, MO, Peggy Davis and her husband Kameron, Johnny Norris and his wife Sarah, Jennifer McElwee and her husband Travis all of Moberly, and Scott Maxwell of Hannibal, MO, 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, daughter in law Kelly of Moberly, other relatives and friends.
Prior to his honorable discharge he served in the U.S. Army and had received a Purple Heart Medal amongst many others. After the military he worked at a bottling company for a few years. Then he went on to work for Donnie Forbis, as a mechanic for many years. He ended his work career at Walmart Tire and Lube Center. He loved a good beverage every now and then. His favorite meal was a steak dinner. Going to the casino and gambling was one of his most enjoyable pastimes.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family during a visitation at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Services honoring and celebrating Ronnie’s life with military honors followed. Committal prayer and burial took place in the Hagar Cemetery.
