Richard C. “Dick” Furgason I, 72, of Moberly, passed away Tuesday, December 05, 2023. He was born April 14, 1951, in Iowa City, Iowa, to the union of Walter and Lillian (Perrin) Furgason.
Dick moved to Moberly when he was 17 years old where he met Linda Gravitt. They married, January 16, 1971, and were married for 49 years. He often referred to her as “the love of his life”. Dick started his career at Everlast and then went on to retire from 3M, where he worked in maintenance for 31 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard. and was a member of NRA, RNCA and was a diehard Republican. Dick loved to watch St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes.
He is survived by his son Richard Furgason II and his wife Krystal of Moberly, sisters, Deb and her husband Bob Solinger, of Arkansas and Kathy Furgason, Becky and Terry Eister, and Cindy Furgason all of Oxford, Iowa, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters Brenda Crow and Peggy Price.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation that was held at the First Assembly of God Church. Funeral services celebrating and honoring Richard’s life followed. Committal prayer and burial took place at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
