Raymond E. "Gene" Kitchen

Raymond E. “Gene” Kitchen, 73, passed Wednesday, December 20, 2023. He was born June 30, 1950 to Raymond and Jessie (Bryant) Kitchen.

Prior to retirement gene worked for Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He also worked with livestock his entire life.

Gene was saved in 2005 and baptized on April 3, 2005 at Liberty Christian Church. He loved his grandkids, who called him Papaw, and a great-grandson, who called him Papaw Gene.

Survivors include his wife, Debby Kitchen of Cairo, two sons, Brian Kitchen and his wife, Melina,  of Corbin, KY, and Jeremy Kitchen and his wife, Amy, of Cairo, his grandchildren, Ashley, Katie and her husband, Brandon, Olivia, Evelyn, Owen, and Ella, his great- grandson, Jax, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Nicky, and three brothers, Joe, Rick and Doug.

Gene supported “Cowboys for Christmas” and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Cowboys for Christmas would be appreciated.

At the family’s request, there will be no public services.
