Phyllis Gayle Brown, 91, of Moberly, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021. She was born August 6, 1930 in Centerville, Iowa to Charles G. and Neva (Freeborn) Walls.
She married Howard Brown, September 30, 1956, in Moberly at the Central Christian Church and he preceded her in death March 14, 2010. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a son, Tyler Brown.
She is survived by her daughter Tracy Egley and her husband Ernie, grandchild Alex Egley, sister in law Bennie Brown, nephews Skip Hirst, Cliff Hirst, Eric Brown and a niece Kristin Stegeman, other relatives and friends.
For many years Phyllis had lived in Moulton and Sedan, Iowa before moving to Moberly. She was a member of the Central Christian Church where she served as a choir director and organist before she retired in 2017. Phyllis loved to flower garden.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family during the visitation at the Cater Funeral Home. Services honoring and celebrating Phyllis’s life were held in the Central Christian Church. Committal prayer and burial followed at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
