Obituary

Phillip Luzzo, 82, of Moberly, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022. Phillip was born October 3, 1939, in Los Angeles, CA to the union of the late Samuel Phillip and Sarah (Aiello) Luzzo. 

Phillip served in the US Marines prior to his Honorable Discharge and always championed the importance of our military.  He was a proud lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) and a staunch supporter of our country.  Phillip enjoyed an illustrious career in the newspaper industry, including many years of circulation and distribution management at the Herald Examiner in Los Angeles.

He married Karen Wallington, November 21, 1987 in San Juan Capistrano, CA, and she survives of the home, also surviving are 2 sons Duane Luzzo and his wife Janis of Dixon, CA, Darrell Luzzo of Las Vegas, NV, a daughter Darlene Dennison and her husband Rich of Huntington Beach, CA, step son Steven Couey of Moberly, Mo, step daughters Deborah Kuhn and her husband Brendon of Brunswick and Joanna Burkett, of Higbee, MO,2 sisters, Rosemary Luzzo and Stephanie Luzzo of CA, ex wife Bonnie McGowan, 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Military Honors honoring Phillip’s service to his country and his life will were held at the Resurrection Mausoleum, Oakland Cemetery, Entombment followed.
