“Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Pamela “Pam” Marie Prewitt went to be with the Lord on September 2nd, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 71. Born in Moberly, MO at Woodland Hospital on April 29, 1953, to the union of David L. Crutcher and Rose (Kirby) Crutcher. She dedicated her life to loving her family and sharing her faith.
Pam was a graduate of Westran High School in Huntsville, MO. She continued her education at Truman State in Kirksville MO, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
She married her best friend, Roger Prewitt, on June 8, 1990 at Sweet Springs Baptist Church.
Pam began her teaching career at Higbee School in Higbee, MO and later celebrated a career well loved, retiring from Westran Elementary School in 2009. Pam was a teacher who inspired countless students with her kindness and passion for learning. Her contagious laugh and warm spirit brought joy to everyone around her. She was known for her unconditional love and always putting others before herself. Her generosity knew no bounds.
She was a member of Sweet Springs Baptist Church, member of the church choir; a passionate singer who found joy in sharing her love of music with family and friends. Whether it be a hymn in church or a favorite song at home, her voice brought comfort and happiness to those around her.
Pam also had a great love for her horses. She could always be found either at the barn tending the horses, working in her beautiful flower beds, or sitting in her porch swing…drinking a chai tea (the PAM way!).
As a devoted grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. From eating lunch at Lawte Coffeehouse, to trips to Arrow Rock, and birthday “kidnappings”, she created memories that will last a lifetime.
She loved meeting her retired friends for gatherings, attending the Friday night cruises, and sitting with her fellow “porch dwellers” every Wednesday for lunch. She was a dear friend to many.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Roger Prewitt; her children: Tara Bowden and husband Danny Bowden of Moberly, MO, Tyler Benner and wife Kelsie Benner of Moberly, MO, Andy Hayes and husband Jeff Hayes of Columbia, MO; Her grandchildren: Felicia Bowden, Kayle O’Donnell and husband Austin O’Donnell, Bryson Yowell and fiancé Amber Summerville, Ellie Benner, Hattie Hayes, Clara Hayes, Layton Bowden,
Her sister Julie Williams and husband Frankie.
Preceding her in death was her father, David Crutcher, her mother, Rose Crutcher, and brother, Greg Crutcher.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sweet Springs Baptist Church for the Travel Cancer Fund.
We give praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Pam is now made whole while undeniably singing, dancing, and praising our Heavenly Father!”
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held at the Cater Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating and honoring Pamela’s life were held at the Sweet Springs Baptist Church. Committal prayer and burial took place in the Sweet Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
