Obituary

O. S. “Stan” Miller Jr., 89, passed away, Saturday, December 19, 2020, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Stan was born September 8, 1931 in Udell, IA to O. S., Sr and Mildred (Hopkins) Miller.

He grew up in Moberly, MO with an older brother Max Miller. Stan served in the United States Navy in 1551 to 1955 when he received his honorable discharge. He returned home to Moberly, MO and went to work for the Wabash Railroad in 1955 where he worked for 36 years until he retired in 1991. On May 17, 1957 he married Mildred Louise Maiden and together raised four children. Stan farmed and also raised cattle.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise, two daughters; Paula Hopper and Deborah Mobley, and a grandson, Dean Robertson.

He is survived by his sons Darrell Miller and Robert Clark both of Moberly, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.  

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Services honoring Stan’s life were held graveside at the Oakland Cemetery.   Committal prayer, Military Honors and burial followed.  A private viewing was held prior to the services in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel.
