Norman Duane Lute, Sr., 90, of Madison, passed peacefully, Monday, October 27, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born, May 1, 1935, to Harvey and Ethel (Stark) Lute, in Ponca, NE.
He graduated from Battle Ground high school in WA. He married Hilda Smith on August 16, 1957, and they had 6 children, Norman Jr., Monica, Barbara, Harvey, Rose and Jon.
Norman was a farmer but also worked at Temple Stephens and Armour Foods as a truck driver and meat packer, until retirement.
He loved to spoil his grandkids and loved them all “The Mostest”.
Norman is survived by his children Monica Linebaugh, Marceline, Barbara Rifenburg, of Independence, Harvey Lute, of Madison, Rose Driver of Madison, and Jon Lute and his wife Tammy of Pea Ridge, AR, 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Irvin Lute and Nathan and his wife Linda Lute, sisters Dorothy Gibson, Janis Bentch, Ardeth Baker, Sharon Strohm, and Elaine Smith, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Hilda, a son Norman, Jr., brothers Melvin, Rodney, and David Lute, and a sister Arlene Long.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel, followed by services honoring Mr. Lute’s life. Committal prayer and burial took place at Memorial Park Cemetery.
