LaVerne G. Heaton, 86, of Macon, passed away Tuesday January 4, 2022. He was born June 18, 1935 in Memphis, MO to the union of Elva and Anna (Wood) Heaton.
On May 10, 1957 he was united in marriage to Melba Bane in Memphis, MO and she preceded him in death January 8, 2016, also preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter Shelly and a sister Kathryn
He is survived by his children, Michael Heaton and his wife Kim of Macon, Alan Heaton and his wife Anne of Shawnee KS and Jana Longbine of Moberly, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother Dale, sister’s Dorva, Eva, Dorothy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
LaVerne had worked for the MO Department of Natural Resources as a Water Specialist prior to his retirement.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held in the Macon First Baptist Church. Services honoring and celebrating LaVerne’s life followed. Committal prayer and interment was at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Green City, MO
