Judith Ann “Judy” Hunt, 83, of Fayette, formerly of Huntsville, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, April 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born, July 21, 1941, Oxon Hill, MD, to the union of John Paul and Madalyn Elizabeth (Muir) Rupp. She graduated from college, earning a degree in Nursing. She then went on to have a long career as a Nurse at Moberly Regional Medical Center in the Emergency Room.
Judy married Dad (Edgar Hunt) and they were happily married until his passing on December 22, 2016. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Huntsville. Judy especially loved her family and helping others. She was never afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believed in. You always knew where you stood with her.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Chris & Sue Hunt of Moberly, Tara & Ed Kuhne of Glasgow, Leonard & Terri Hunt of Clark, Lisa Miller of Moberly, Willard Hunt of Cameron, Laurie & Scott VanGelder of Sedalia, MO and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister.
Memorial donations in Judy's memory may be directed to the Thelma Shaw scholarship foundation c/o MACC. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services honoring and celebrating Judy’s life followed. Committal prayer and private burial took place at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.
