Obituary

John Thomas “Johnny” Williams, 63 of Moberly died March 23, 2020.  He was born April 24,1956, in Providence, Rhode Island, to George “Jack” and Althea (Buchanan) Williams.

Johnny grew up in Moberly where he enjoyed swimming at Rothwell Lake, showing off his dance moves, and getting into trouble. He worked at Brand Concrete, now known as Randolph County Foundation, early in his life. He moved around the country for work as a union millwright and settled near Michigan City, Indiana for 30 years before moving back to Moberly to retire and build his own home on the family farm. He loved to fish, cook, make wine and share with his friends and family.

Johnny was a good’Ol boy and left an impression on everyone he met. He was tough as nails and as smart as they come. Those who were lucky enough to share a beer with him have probably also shared a laugh and heard his opinion.

Survivors include, his children, M. Jill Preiss and her husband Brian of Savannah GA , Jake Williams of Denver, CO and Phil Williams of Columbia, MO, two grandchildren Sydney and Nicholas Preiss, two sisters  Connie Mastrobuno and Valerie Bowman both of Ashland, MO, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other  relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty Oliver, Mary Cronin, and a brother

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Due to the COVID-19 Virus and CDC guidelines Johnny’s family choose to have a family led celebration of his life at a later date
