John Allen Micke, 78, of Moberly, passed away, Monday, September 22, 2025. He was born, December 5, 1946, to the union of August and Muriel (Pannell) Micke in New Ulm, Minnesota.
He graduated from Calhoun School, then joined the United State Navy, prior to receiving his Honorable Discharge, after which he went to work for the college in Warrensburg, then he moved to Colorado, for several years, to work construction in the coal mines. He moved to Missouri and worked at Associated Electric for several years, after which he became foreman for several construction companies, and he later opened his own construction company.
John is survived by his two sons, Justin Micke and his significant other, Sarah Goff, of Moberly and John Micke and his wife Carolyn, of Colorado, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Martin Micke and his wife, Carol, of Joplin, Donnie Micke and his wife, Phyliss, of Florida, David Micke and his wife, Judy, of Calhoun, a sister, Nancy Wassum and her husband Jerry, of Springfield, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Ann (Richardson) Micke, a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Peter Davies, and a nephew Aron Micke.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel, followed by Funeral services honoring and celebrating John’s life. Military Honors and committal prayer took place at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery Shelter, Jacksonville, Mo., Inurnment followed..
