Obituary

Jerry Wayne Partrick, 78, of Moberly, Missouri, died Thursday, October 19, 2023. He was born October 5, 1945, in Moberly to Oran Ernest and Juanita Kehoe (Boggs) Patrick.

Prior to retirement Jerry worked at AB Chance (Hubbell Power) in Centralia for almost 43 years before retirement in the late 1990s.

Jerry served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1970 during the Vietnam War as a Marine Mechanic.  He was stationed in San Diego and Japan during his time in the U.S. Navy, before receiving an honorable discharge on May 22, 1970.

Jerry married JoElla Baker on May 26, 1972 in Moberly, Missouri and she survives of the home. Also surviving are his children, Leslie Patrick of Moberly, MO and Dana Cain and her husband, Matthew, of Springfield, VA, a granddaughter, Ella Cain of Springfield, VA, brothers, Duane Hombs and his wife Barb of Hawk Point, MO, Tim Patrick and his wife Jeri of Moberly, MO, sisters, Kathy Bartolacci and her husband David of Higbee, MO, and Teresa Ellliott and her husband Brad of Moberly, MO, sister-in-law, Beverly Still of Higbee, MO nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry and JoElla celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in May 2023.  They met at the local roller-skating rink which they frequently attended well into their marriage.   Jerry and his family loved to go on fishing and camping trips when his children were younger.

Jerry spent the last 25 years post-retirement rebuilding a 1932 hotrod as a hobby.  While rebuilding the car, he attended many car shows and won numerous awards for all his hard work on the car.  He would often go visit his buddies who were also avid hotrod lovers.

Jerry also loved watching sports in his spare time.  He was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and a season ticket holder for the Moberly Area Community College Greyhounds for over forty years. If he missed a game, he made sure to check the score the next morning to ensure he did not miss anything.  From baseball, basketball, football and softball, Jerry loved watching sports.

Jerry and his wife JoElla have bowled in local bowling leagues, state and national bowling tournaments for the past 50 years.

Most recently, Jerry loved spending time with his three-year old granddaughter Ella.  She provided him much joy when he saw her.  He would do anything to make her smile and he truly was the best pawpaw.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Larry Hombs and Richard Patrick, and a sister, Beverly Lay.

Memorial Contributions to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
