Obituary

Jerry Lee Gillispie, 91, of Moberly, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023. He married Beverly Joyce Lewis, December 28, 1952 and she preceded him in death April 24, 2010.

Jerry served in the United States Air Force and had received an honorable discharge. After service he worked 27 years at Ford Motor Co.  

He enjoyed making furniture for family and friends and  was an avid fisherman and turkey hunter; he also enjoyed building HO train towns.

He is survived by his children, Sheila Walters of Moberly, Walt Gillispie and his wife Joni of Liberty, Mo., James Gillispie and his wife Debbie of Lee’s Summit, Tammy Gillispie and Tracy Gillispie of Kansas City, Mo., 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The family would appreciate memorials to The American Heart Association.

Military Honors, committal words and prayer honoring Jerry’s life will take place at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, Mo. Friday February 24, 2023 at 12:00 pm.
