Jane Ellen “Young” Kindell, 77, of Renick, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024. She was born March 3, 1947, to William “Bill” and Annabel (Dingman) Young in Renick.
She grew up in Renick and lived most of her life there, dancing the days away at the Top Hat where she grew up, with the exception of a few years in Moberly. She was the longtime Postmaster for Renick Post Office. Jane Ellen had an intense desire for learning. Her favorite passions were sewing, singing, playing the piano, gardening, cooking, reading, moving the furniture in her house (almost daily), her Renick community, driving fast and topping the hills driving into Renick, caring for any and every one and her unending love and faith in God.
She participated in 4H, Caring Communities, served as Church Elder and Pianist, and led us all with her beautiful soprano voice. Music filled her heart and soul, and she shared this precious gift with all. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have all been lulled by her beautiful voice. Her love of her family was unending and selfless.
She ran a furniture recovering business at one time. She wasn’t a great animal lover, but she did love her dog, Jesse. She loved everyone around her and did her best to make their lives better, often at the expense of her own needs. She will be missed by us all.
Jane Ellen is survived by her children, Beth Anne Andrews and her husband Dean of Huntsville, James Byron Kindell and his wife Jessica of Moberly, and Sara Jane Smothers of Renick, her chosen children, Stacy Renee Kindell of Renick, and Benji Eugene Smothers of Moberly, 6 grandchildren, Jacob Kindell Smothers and his wife Mariah, Kaitlin Renee Grisham and her husband John, Alyssa Elizabeth Smothers, Megan Alexandra Kindell (Matthew) Coltin Dean Kindell Andrews (Jordan) and Greyson James Kindell, 3 great grandchildren , Braedyn Kindell Smothers, Agnys Renee Grisham, Kenslee Blake Smothers and Isla Jane Grisham (coming soon), nieces, nephews, other relatives and the closest of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dee “Young” Bale, a brother, William Robert Young, a sister-in-law, Linda Keen, a brother-in-law, Noel Keen, and a niece Molly “Keen” Nuhn.
