Obituary

Herbert Erwin “Junior”, 83 of St. Charles, MO formerly of Moberly, passed away Tuesday June 1, 2021. He was born November 5, 1937 in Moberly, MO. to the union of Herbert, Sr and Hettie (Threlkeld) Erwin.

He was a hard working husband and father who had a long career as a brakeman for the Norfolk Southern Railroad in which he retired after many years of service.

He is survived by his 3 children Deborah Mitchell of Montgomery City, MO, Eric Erwin and his wife Rita of Troy, Mo, and Lori Bell of St. Charles, Mo.  He was the proud Grandpa to 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter, sister Judy Rollins of Rogersville, MO, 2 brothers Chris Rickertsen and his wife Susan of Moberly and Jerry Erwin of the state of CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  All of these he loved and touched deeply.

Most of all Herbert loved his family and instilled in his children strong values that have served them well. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson Kyle Schneider, son in law Robert John Bell, a brother Steven Rickertsen, and his bonus father Chris Rickertsen Sr

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation, which was followed by services honoring “Junior’s”  life in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel.  Committal prayer and burial took place at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
