Obituary
Gordon “Kent” Mayo, 84, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022. He was born to the union of Curtis Allen and Helen Vivian (Bybee) Mayo, February 1, 1938 in Clifton Hill, Mo.
Kent was honorably discharged from the Army and the Navy and later he drove a semi over the road. He married Emma Embree, March 23, 1979 in Moberly, Mo., and she preceded him in death, November 2019, also preceding him in death were his parents and a step son, Curtis Martin.
Survivors include brothers, Robert Allen Mayo and his wife Melba of Livingston, TX and Richard Curtis Mayo and his wife Betty of Huntsville, Mo, stepchildren Teresa Webb and her husband Kevin, of LaPlata, Mo and Dennis Martin of Clark, Mo, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, an aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services honoring and celebrating Kent’s life followed. Committal prayer, military honors, and burial took place at The Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.
