George Carney

George Carney, 84, of Moberly passed away, Saturday, September 16, 2023.  He was born, July 28, 1939, in Moberly, to the union of Jamie G and Doris Ann (Wassmuth) Carney.

He had served his country faithfully and had received an honorable discharge. Prior to his retirement he had been involved in the auto parts industry.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (Baker) Carney of Moberly, a son Mitch and his significant other, Melissa and a grandson Andrew Carney all of Kansas City, Mo., a sister Martha Patterson and her husband Bill, of St. Louis Mo, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Dick and Tom.

Memorials may be made to Moberly Friends of the Park/Mini Train.

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation, that was held in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel.   Funeral services celebrating and honoring George’s life followed.  Committal prayer, Military Honors and burial took place at the Oakland Cemetery.
