George Burkhart, 81, of Moberly, passed away, Thursday, March 31, 2022. He was born February 10, 1941 in Standish, Mo. to the union of George and Dorothy (Brockett) Burkhart. He had served his country in the United States Army prior to receiving his honorable discharge.
Before his retirement he had been a plumber and worked in construction.
George married Jenny Pauline Trussel and she proceeded him in death, also proceeding him in death were his parents, sisters Betty Burks, Alice Adams, Dorothy Tonner, 5 infant sisters and a granddaughter Cheryl P. Burkhart.
Survivors include his 3 sons, Raymond Lee Burkhart and his wife Mia of Vera Beach, FL, George Thomas Burkhart and his wife Paula of Brunswick, Mo, and Charles Allen Burkhart and his wife Rita of Salem Mo, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a brother, Claude Burkhart and his wife Joyce of Hannibal, Mo, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, Mo.
Military Honors’ honoring and celebrating George’s life and service to his country were held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Committal prayer and burial followed.
