Frances Mae Dameron Stapleton

Frances Mae Dameron Stapleton, 78, of Columbia passed Saturday, November 1, 2025. She was born October 27, 1947, in Moberly, to Edna Dameron Hayes and stepdad Raymond E. Hayes.

She worked for 30 years in Columbia healthcare where she loved them babies! She also enjoyed playing cards, enjoying family time, and her grandkids.

Frances will always be remembered for her infectious smile and being able to make you laugh so hard.  She did not like to have her picture taken, but she left a lot of wonderful memories.  We Thank God for giving her a warm, loving spirit.

She is survived by her children, Earl J. Stapleton Jr and his wife Shelia, Michelle Stapleton, and Tieresa Michell, grandchildren, Jaquashanie Spain, Mariona Stapleton - Daniel’s, Janesha  Stapleton, Mar’zavion Stapleton, Earl J. Murray, Ashley Proctor and Tiara Dameron, 2 brothers, Jimmy Dameron, Raymond Hayes, 4 sisters, Connie Sills, Carol Smith, Shelly and Don Colley, and Peggy Ewing, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, other relatives and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl J. Stapleton Sr, and a sister, Margaret Dameron.

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel, followed by Funeral services honoring Mrs. Stapleton’s life. A private committal will take place at a later date.
