Obituary

Floyd J. Butler, 74, of Moberly, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021. He was born August 27, 1947 in Moberly to Joe Butler and Anna Harvey.

Floyd worked for the City of Moberly for 30 years prior to his retirement.  When he retired, he loved going fishing and cutting lawns with his favorite uncle Oscar.

Survivors include his two daughters Tracy (Keven) Hendrix and Michelle (David) Cornelious, three grandchildren David, Devonte, and Mariah, one great grandchild Jayda, all of Des Moines, IA., a sister Marie Brown, uncle Oscar Williams, nieces Marjorie Haney, Vickie Brown, Theresa Boone, Pam Boone, and Shaday Brown all of Moberly MO, Monica Simmons of Columbia MO.,nephews, Michael (Michelle) Fugate and David Dameron all of Moberly MO, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Violet, three brothers Ernest, Clyde, and Frank, sister Catherine, and nephew Wayne Brown.

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel, followed by services honoring Floyd’s life.  Committal prayer and burial were held at the Oakland Cemetery.
