Obituary

Mary Evelyn Eschliman, 87 of Moberly, Missouri, passed away, Monday, March 11, 2024. She was born September 9,1936 in Moberly, Missouri.

Mary Evelyn graduated from Moberly High school in 1955. After graduation she married Edward Lloyd Eschliman on December 23rd,1956 at West Park Methodist Church and they were happily married for 67 years.

Survivors include a daughter Shelli Wilcox and her husband, Dan, of Moberly, two granddaughters Chloe Wilcox of Moberly, and Anna Barrow and husband Trey Barrow of Columbia and great-grandson Cayde Barrow, her son Lance Eschliman and wife, Leigh, of Columbia, their daughter Christina, and husband Absalom and grandchildren, Weston, Logan, Luke, and Oakley, a son in law, Rick Davis of Moberly, a brother, Bill Menefee and wife Joanne of Florida, nephews; William Kent Menefee and wife Ashely of Alabama and Greg Menefee and wife Summer of Arkansas, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was her husband Edward Lloyd Eschliman, parents Albert Eugene and Opal Menefee, daughters Debra Eschliman and Stacy Eschliman Davis.

Mary Evelyn began working at the Moberly Monitor Index in 1956 and retired after almost 40 years. She was a member of West Park United Methodist Church and later a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mary Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and generosity. She loved her family and friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and loved visiting with friends and making new friends. She loved watching sports and was an avid card player.

She was the glue that held our family together.

Memorial contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church would be appreciated. 

Services honoring and celebrating Evelyn's life took place at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery Shelter, committal prayer and inurnment followed.
