Eloise Keller

Eloise Rogers Keller, 93,  passed peacefully into her eternal home, January 20, 2024.  She was born to Henry C and Elma (Halterman)  Rogers, October 1, 1930, on the family farm east of Jacksonville MO.  She attended Salem School, nicknamed Possum College, during her elementary years.She then moved with her family to Moberly MO where she graduated from High School in 1949.  As a teenager she became a Christian and served God the rest of her life.  She was a member of Cairo Baptist Church.

While roller skating, she met the love of her life, Robert L Keller of Cairo.  They were married, June 10, 1951 and would spend the next 66 years raising their family and farming east of Jacksonville MO.  Upon retirement they moved back to Moberly MO.  Robert predeceased her in 2017.

Eloise had a kind heart, always ready to help anyone with a need.  She was a wonderful cook and had a green thumb whether it was with vegetables or flowers.  She loved nature, her pets and life on the farm.  Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them and her extended family.

She is survived by two sons: Roger & Cynthia, Kirk & Kim, a daughter, Anita & Gary McAllister.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren:  Ryan Keller and Erin Welsh, Jamie Keller, Justin & Karen McAllister, Brett & Casey McAllister, Tyler & Cassie McAllister, Sonya Keller and Andrew Downs. Great-Grandchildren are: Keller, Eleanora, Gloria, Annabelle, Charlie, Josephine, Parker, Junia and one due in March.

Other survivors include: nieces, special nephew/niece, Jim & Pam Keller, cousins, many friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, two brothers, William H. (Jr) Rogers & Chester Rogers,  2 sisters, Reta Rogers Fifer & Juanelle Rogers Edwards, a nephew & a niece.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials to Salem Cemetery, ℅ L Creed, 2512 County Road 1720, Cairo MO  65239.

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation that was held in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel, followed by Funeral Services honoring and celebrating Eloise’s life.  Committal prayer and burial took place in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
