Obituary
Ella Mae Daugherty, 89, of Moberly formerly of Ava, MO, passed away Saturday October, 9, 2021 at her daughters home with her family by her side. She was born May 12, 1932 in Drury, MO to Theodore and Dorothy (Bunch) Hurst.
On July 6, 1953 Ella May and Joseph Gerald LeRoy were united in marriage and were blessed with four children. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1986. She later married Bud Daugherty on October 4, 1994 and he also preceded in death on January 20, 2009. Ella May was also preceded in death by her parents, her infant son, David Gerald LeRoy, son-in-law, Larry Hutchison, siblings, O’Neal Luellen, Agnes Williams, Anna Collins and J.W. “Billy” Hurst.
Ella May is survived by her three children, Patty Stephens (Joe) of Galena, MO, Debbie Hutchison of Moberly, MO and Tracy Griffith (David) of Thornfield, MO, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister, Bert (Dean) Scherer of Drury, MO, nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was a longtime Christian who was actively involved in several churches in her community.
Family requests memorials to be made to the Hurst Cemetery Fund, HC 73, Box 71A, Drury, MO 65638 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Per Ella's wishes a private service honoring her life will take place at the Hurst Cemetery, Drury, MO with committal prayer and burial to follow.
