Edith Mae "Wee Wee" Thorpe, 96, of Moberly, died Wednesday, October 24th, 2018. She was born October 27th, 1921 in Moberly MO to Frank B. and Lois (Buckner) Harvey.
Edith married Wyatt “Pump” Thorpe on July 29th, 1940 in Moberly, and he preceded her in death on July 19th, 2013. Also preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers; James Cooper, Bill, Willard, and Wilbert Harvey, and four sisters; Louise Alexander, Frankie Harvey, Mary Frances Thorpe, and Effie Elizabeth Davis, a sister-in-law Leaner Williams and a step-son William Mitchell.
Survivors include her children; Doris Coleman, Robert Thorpe and Kathy Payne, Linda Kitchen and her Husband Tom all of Moberly, Kaye Jackson and her husband Chauncey of Marshall, Missouri, step-daughter Anna Pettigrew of Columbia, Missouri, eight grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Barbara Robinson and Doris Redding whom she loved as her own.
Edith was a member of the 2nd Baptist church in Huntsville, Missouri. She enjoyed being with family and friends and claiming "Steve Harvey" as her cousin.
Services honoring and celebrating Edith’s life were held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
