Obituary

Donna “Charlene” Barron, 66, of Jacksonville, Mo. peacefully passed away on November 4, 2023, at The South Hampton Place nursing home in Columbia, Mo. Charlene was born February 1, 1957, in Cairo, Mo. to Charles Basil Warren and Donna Lou (Newkirk) Warren. She graduated in 1975 from Kirksville Christian High School. On August 18, 2000, Charlene was united in marriage to Dennis Wayne Barron who is still residing in the home.


Charlene worked for Toastmaster in Moberly before moving to Colorado in 1980 to accept a position with DOW Chemical & Gases. She transferred to Dallas, Tx. In 1983 with the company and stayed until 1997, when she moved back to the Moberly area. She worked various jobs with Hubbell in Centralia, University Hospital in Columbia, Jackson Brothers in customer service, and various insurance agencies. In 2011, she suffered her first heart attack/stroke with which she was no longer able to continue working. In September of 2022, she fell and broke her hip and her health continued to steadily decline.


Charlene was a member of the MIHC. She was as active as her health would allow in church and helping out anyone (especially her friends) with any needs they might have had. She loved God, her church, and all her family and friends. Charlene was a great wife (The Best) She enjoyed her many small dogs that she had and spoiled them very much. They were her kids, since she had no kids of her own.


The surviving include Rose and Dan Reynolds of Huntsville, Mark and Christy Warren of Huntsville, John and Christi Warren of Moberly, Lugene (Cotton) and Tiffany Warren of Huntsville, David and Myra Warren of Cairo, April Switzer of Fayette, Juanita and Mike Mason of Fayette, Danny and Helen Warren of Excello. In-laws Gerald and Donna Barron, Sister-in-law Wanda and Lentry Lay, Brother-in-law Kevin and Carol Barron, Uncle Wayne White, Uncle Bob and Mary Bain of California. Special Niece Debbie Hedrick of Colorado. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents Charles Basil Warren and Donna Lou (Newkirk) Warren, Brother Charles Lee Warren, Mother-in-law Virginia Maxine Barron, Sister-in-law Brenda Warren.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Moberly Independent Holiness Church or charity of your choice.

Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at a visitation to be held, Thursday, November 9, 2023, 4 pm – 7 pm at the Cater Funeral Home.  Funeral services honoring and celebrating Charlene's life will be Friday, 1 PM, at the Moberly Independent Holiness Church.  Committal prayer and burial will take place at the Woodville Cemetery.
