Dinah Jean Coles, 75, of Jacksonville, Missouri, passed away on February 11, 2026, following a tragic accident. Dinah was born on August 10, 1950, in Moberly, Missouri, to Lillian (Frisbee) and Raymond Flowers.
On October 16, 1971, Dinah married Larry Coles, and together they welcomed two children, Jason and Jessica. Dinah was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. In her earlier years of marriage, she enjoyed helping with cattle and horses on the family farm, along with going on trail rides and traveling with her loved ones.
Dinah's greatest joy in life was her family, and her grandchildren were her whole world. She truly was their best friend, always ready to listen, support, and celebrate them. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her grandchildren—whether attending their sports activities or being there for life’s big and small moments, she treasured each day with Stella Coles, Belle Rutherford, and Raylee Rutherford. Her greatest happiness came from making lifelong memories with them and being a constant source of love and encouragement.
Dinah graduated from Madison High School and spent her life in Jacksonville, Missouri. She is survived by her husband, Larry Coles; her mother, Lillian Flowers; her sister, Deborah Stone and her husband Ron; her son, Jason Coles and his wife Sandra; her daughter, Jessica Rutherford and her husband Nathan; and her grandchildren, Stella Coles, Belle Rutherford, and Raylee Rutherford. She is also survived by her niece, Sarah Stone; her nephew, Matt Stone and his wife Amy; as well as several other nieces and nephews. Dinah was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Flowers, and her grandparents.
Dinah will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the enduring memories she created with those she held dear. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you remember Dinah by cherishing time with loved ones and holding your memories close.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held at the Cairo Baptist Church, followed by a service honoring Dinah's life. A private committal will be held at a later date.
