Obituary

Delana Ann Wilson of Clark, Mo, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Monday, July 14, 2025, at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO. She had been battling cancer for the past 9 and a half years. Delana was born, December 3, 1965, in Moberly, MO at Woodland Hospital, to Lester Dale and Esther Mercita (Smith) Chism.

Delana graduated from Moberly Highschool in 1984. She then went on to play basketball for the Moberly Area Junior College Lady Greyhounds and graduated in 1986.  She started working at Orscheln, went on to GE, Capelco, and then at Dolphin Capital which was later rebranded to Leaf. She was also a proud member of the Carpenter Street Baptist Church.

She married Thomas Allen “Bo” Wilson at North Park Baptist Church on January 3, 1998, in Moberly, MO. Her pride and joy was her daughter, Samantha Ann Wilson. She was born on August 20, 2000.

Delana loved to play the guitar and had been in an old country band, Mystery Train. She was in the band for 20 years. She enjoyed volunteering at Community Kitchen. She was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Mizzou Tiger, and most importantly the St. Louis Cardinals.

She loved to take care of the sheep and naming all the new baby lambs. She loved to read, doing crafts, and to hunt for treasures at antique shops. She loved spending time with friends, family and her church family. But most of all she loved God with all her heart and never questioned why. She read and recited Psalms 91 everyday.

She is survived by her daughter, Samantha Wilson, mother, Mercita Chism, brother, Rusty Chism, and sisters, Thresa Chism, and Shelly Kessler (Dave).  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
