Obituary

David Kivett Weis, 58, of Moberly, MO, passed away on March 8, 2022, after a 14-month-long battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his wife Christine of Moberly; children Blake Weis, Audi Weis, Megan Darter, Michael Darter, and Emily Darter; siblings Kaye (Dennis) Spalding of Monroe City, Bob (Carol) Weis of Columbia, and Gary Weis of Moberly. David was preceded in death by his parents Viola and Bob Weis. Following graduation from Moberly High School in 1981, David attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a psychology degree in 1985. He was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. David moved back to Moberly to work at the family's insurance business P.K. Weis Agency. He also co-founded the Missouri Education Health Group (MEHG). David was an avid sports fan and loved his Missouri Tigers. He was also a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. He loved to golf, boat at the Lake of the Ozarks, and travel. He was on the board of trustees at Moberly Area Community College and was a big supporter of the Greyhounds. A Visitation was held at Coates Street Presbyterian Church, followed by a memorial funeral service honoring and celebrating David’s life.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coates Street Presbyterian Church, 601 West Coates Street, Moberly, MO, 65270.  A private Committal prayer and burial was at Oakland Cemetery.
