Obituary

Connie L (Snyder)Skaggs, 81, passed away, July 6, 2024, in Columbia, Missouri.  Born, September 11, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa, she was a beloved member of her family.

Connie graduated from Moline High School in Illinois in 1960.  She began her career in the records department at the Moline Police Department, where she met her future husband, John Skaggs.  Connie dedicated herself to her family as a full-time mother from 1979, a role she embraced with love and devotion.

Known for her loving, caring nature, Connie was an absolutely wonderful wife and mother.  Her interests were diverse and reflected her vibrant personality, she was an avid reader with an extensive collection of books, particularly on animals and romance.  Connie’s humor and laugh were contagious, and she kept well-informed on political matters, always stressing the importance of voting.

Her hobbies included swimming, crocheting, and enjoying country music and westerns on TV. Connie had a special love for owls and cats, and her affection for all kinds of movies kept her entertained throughout her life.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, John Skaggs, after 49 years of marriage in March 2021, her parents, Willie and Marcille Snyder, and her nephew, Chad Snyder in 2018.

She is survived by her son, Corey Skaggs of Hallsville, Missouri, stepdaughter Julie (Skaggs) Dennhardt of Genesco, Illinois, brothers Mike (Chris) Snyder of Moline, Illinois, and Bill Snyder of Florida, two granddaughters and two great grandchildren of Illinois, Cousin Darleen Webb, of Chicago, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.

Services honoring and celebrating Connie’s life were held,  graveside at the Oakland Cemetery.  Committal prayer and burial followqed
