Obituary

Charles W. Skinner, 91, died December 27, 2020. He was born December 31, 1928 in Denver Colorado to the union of William Cecil “Ethial” and Goldie (Klingsmith) Skinner.  He grew up in Missouri and later lived in Minnesota, before moving back home, Moberly.

On September 30, 1950 he was united in marriage to Thelma Jo White. After 60 years of marriage she passed away Sept 26, 2010.  Charles worked as a coal miner in Missouri plus for other companies in Moberly until he moved to Minnesota and worked for Armours Meat Packing Company until he retired around 1978.

He enjoyed working in the garden, traveling around the country with his wife site-seeing and really liked to fish.  He was always working on, building, or fixing different things!

He was in the US Army and among the locations he served were in Texas and Guam, before his Honorable Discharge in 1949.

Surviving him are sisters, Mary Donovan of Odessa Mo. Mrs. Robert Herring (Geri) of Columbia, SC,  Ms Barbara (Bobbi) Smith of Sedalia, Mo,  Mrs. Harold DuChene (Julie) of Minnetonka, Mn.,  brother Mr. Carl (Mickey) Skinner of El Paso, TX., a son William Skinner and his wife Barbara of Cottage Grove Mn., two grandchildren Mrs. Larry Imm (Lisa) of Prescott, WI and Mr. Paul Skinner of Cottage Grove, Mn., 3 great grandchildren, Ashlyn Skinner, Kirsten Skinner and Trevor Skinner, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Services honoring Charles’ life were held in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Private Committal prayer and burial followed at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
