Obituary

Charles “Aaron” Hayes, 47, of Columbia, MO passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022. He was born December 25, 1974, in Columbia, to the union of Charles and Willa(Walker) Hayes.

Survivors include his three sons, Jackson Holmes of Overland Park, KS, Jayden and Malik Hayes, and their mother, Charisse Troutman; parents, Charles and Willa Hayes; and a brother, Marcus Hayes, all of Columbia; two uncles, Duane  (Angie) and Roderick Hayes both of Sacramento, CA; four aunts, Priscilla Kincaid (Ray) of Kansas City, MO, Theresa Smith (Michael) of Moberly, MO, Sheila Harrison and Rossalind Hayes both of Sacramento; grandfather, Ross Hayes of Las Vegas, NV; cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Aaron’s life revolved around his three sons: he took extreme pride in all three, and they were his world.  His laugh could fill a room and his love and strength could comfort anyone.  He spent the previous seventeen years working for Socket Internet in Business Sales.  He loved cooking, especially for his friends and family.  He loved the outdoors; camping, floating, canoeing, fishing and hiking.  He also had quite the sweet spot for a special girl named Kayleigh; his 10yr old boxer mix.  In Aaron’s spare time, he also enjoyed reading and watching movies with his sons.  He will be greatly and forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  He brought such joy, love, and laughter to us all.

He was preceded in death by two uncles, Larry Hearld and William Robinson; two grandmothers, Shirley Hayes and Willa Walker; and his grandfather, Thomas Walker, Jr.

If desired memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation that was held in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services honoring and celebrating Aaron’s life followed.  Committal prayer and burial took place at the Oakland Cemetery.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
