Obituary

Catherine Elaine Evans, 74, of  Madison, MO passed away Friday January 14, 2022. She was born December 20, 1947 in Madisonville KY, to the late Lloyd Earl and Geneva Catherine (Hargrave) James.

She graduated Moberly High School in 1965, and attended MACC

On March 8, 1974, she married Darold Ray Evans in Moberly, and he survives of the home. Also surviving are her children, a son, Shane Michael and his wife Carrie Terrell of Daytona, FL, a daughter Kimberly Rhea Coates of Hannibal, 4 grandchildren, Ashton and Gabriel Terrell of Daytona, FL. and Elijah and Abigael Coates of Hannibal, a sister Estella and her husband Pat of Tulsa OK, a brother Ed and his wife Linda of Colorado Springs CO, 2 nieces, Heather of Tulsa, OK and Kellie of Colorado Springs, CO., other relatives and friends.

Catherine loved her family and nothing was more important.  They were her world.  She couldn't wait to be a grandma and thrived at it.  Although she worked outside of the home, she was always a stay-at-home mother at heart.  She loved nothing more than loving and taking care of her family; preparing them meals and baking for them and she never missed any of their activities.  She was an avid gardener and loved flowers.  Her home and flowerbeds looked like a botanical garden.  In later years, she and Darold loved camping in their fifth-wheel.  She loved putting together jigsaw puzzles and it was nothing for her to put a 2,000 piece puzzle together in a day or two, she has quite a collection.  She LOVED animals!  As a youth she had more than 10 horses and loved to ride either by saddle or even by sleigh.  She had goats, chickens, pigs, cattle, dogs, and cats.  For the past eight years, her beloved pet was Callie Cat, she loved her dearly!

She attended Timberlake church in Moberly and was involved the Madison Homemaker's Club, a bible study group called (WMR) Wednesday Morning Regulars and the  XYZ'ers Committee at Timberlake church.

Prior to Catherine’s retirement she worked for Fennel Auto, City Bank, Madison Bank and Commerce Bank for 25 years

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation, held in the Madison Community Center, Madison, MO.  Services honoring and celebrating Catherine’s life followed.  Committal prayer and burial took place at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Madison.
