Billie Jean Newcomb passed away, Thursday November 14, 2024. She was born, May 13, 1931, to the union of Hoyt and Gertrude (Williams) Hefner in Wichita Falls, Texas and the family moved to Elk City, OK., when Billie was a teenager.
Soon after graduating high school Billie married Leon Schones and they had a son, Kent. In October 1959, she married Corbin Newcomb and Corbin had two sons Steve and Rodney. Billie enjoyed oil painting, she loved to travel, and she visited several states with her husband going to knife shows.
Billie is survived by her husband, a grandson, Justin Schones, and two great grandchildren, Corbin Eugene Chason and Abigail Chason, and their father Christopher Chason all of Florida. and two sisters in law in Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, her son, her stepsons, and a granddaughter, Stephanie.
Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at a visitation to be held, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, 11 am – 1 pm at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services honoring and celebrating Billie’s life to follow at 1:00pm. Committal prayer and burial will take place in the Oakland Cemetery.
