Obituary

Betty Mae Austin, 92 of Moberly passed away Thursday March 12, 2020. She was born January 1 , 1928 in Collage Mound, Mo to Leo and Belle (Halterman) Kamp.

Prior to retirement Betty was a bank teller at Bank of Cairo. After retiring she went on to work with her husband at Orin’s Dx in Cairo.

Betty married Orin Austin on November 27, 1947 in Moberly and he preceded her in death February 20, 2019. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother Billy and a sister Arlene.

 Survivors include her children; Vicky Lorenson and her husband Leroy of Foley, AL, Kristy Waddell and her husband Edward and Becky Long and her husband Kirby all of Moberly; five grandchildren; Laura Bolt and her husband Jon of Parkville, MO, Angela and Vanessa Rutherford of Parkville, MO, Nathan Rutherford and his wife Jessica of Cairo, Cory Long and his wife Marissa of Wentzville and Ginger Baust and her husband Jason of O’Fallon, MO, five great-grandchildren; Kaitlyn Bolt, Belle and Raylee Rutherford and Jayden and Edee Baust, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

After retiring she enjoyed travelling with her husband and they had traveled to every state, but Delaware. They even traveled to Mexico, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. She was a member of the Cairo Baptist Church for 80 years.

Memorials to the Hospice Compassus of Macon or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

Services honoring and celebrating Betty's life were held in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and entombment were at the Resurrection Mausoleum, Oakland Cemetery.
