Obituary

Betty Jean Wright, 89, of Moberly, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021. She was born August 27, 1931 in Moberly to William and Flossie (Dry) Fuhrman.

She married John Dixon Wright in 1950 at the Carpenter St. Baptist Church in Moberly and he preceded her in death 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brother Kenneth Fuhrman, grandson William Randall Wright Jr, great grandson Emmit Wright, sister-in-law Louise Fuhrman, brothers-in-law Raymond Fadler and Jacky Crandall.

She is survived by her two sons; Thomas Paul Wright of Moberly, and William Randall Wright of Gainesville, FL, four grandchildren; Steven Wright, Sara Wright, Beth Ann (Wright) Polson and husband Chris, and Maddie Polson, four great grandchildren; Chloe Martinez, Damien Ellis, Rayland Wright, and Leilani Wright, sister Helen Fadler of Marceline, MO, nieces Cheryl Fadler of Columbia,MO and Cammie Ervie of Moberly and nephew Dennis Fadler of Smithville, MO, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including; Betty and Ron Shives, Patty Bennett, Marla Flood, Gary Crutchfield and Judy Burke.  

Betty worked at the Brown Shoe Company and was also a credit manager for Bella Hess catalog Store. She later worked for AAA as a travel agent.

She enjoyed going to MACC basketball games. Betty was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She loved to play bridge with several groups and enjoyed playing slots and was an avid bowler.  When Betty was able to, she would fish for three or four days a week.

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Services honoring Betty’s life followed. Committal prayer and burial was held in the Oakland Cemetery.
