Betty Jean Colley, 89, of Moberly, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020. She was born August 8, 1931 in Clark, MO to the union of Herschel and Ellen (Price) Milnes.
Betty had held several jobs prior to her retirement. She worked as a cook at the Junction restaurant and the Missouri State Prison and was also a school bus driver for the Clark School District and for many years had served on the Clark City Council. She loved her family, gardening, gooseberries, flowers, and going to the Amish auctions. She will also be remembered for her sewing, embroidery, quilts, and canning. She loved short road trips and was a Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include her children; Robert Calvert and his wife Debbie of Centralia, Larry Calvert and his wife Cindy, Sandy Brubaker and her husband Tim, Terry Colley all of Moberly, and Bobby Colley and his wife Debbie of Clark, a brother John Milnes and his wife Joan of Moberly, a daughter in law Les Calvert of Slater, MO, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step mother Sarah, husband Freddie Colley, four sons; Jimmy Colley, Ricky, Richard, and Donald Calvert, and her brother Bill Milnes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at the Cater Funeral Home. Graveside services honoring Betty’s life were held in the Fairview Cemetery. Committal prayer and burial followed.
