Betty Jean Justus

Betty Jean Justus, 92, of Moberly, passed away Saturday January 22, 2022. She was born September 21, 1929 in Lincoln IL to Harry and Hester (Kirkman) Rohlfs.

On October 29, 1977 she married Thomas Justus in Moberly, MO and he preceded her in death January 11, 1993.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother Harry Rohlfs Jr, and a sister Darlene McLendon.

Betty is survived by her children, Becky Wolf (Hugh Hunter) of Lincoln IL, Terry Lewsader (Nina) of Somerville, TN, Sherry Langley (Danny Baker), Lori Miller-Acton and Cindy Schomaker and her husband Steve all of Moberly, 12 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren, 3 sisters, Jewel Schachtele, Joyce Paige-Musick, and Sharon Shehorn and her husband Vernon all of Lincoln, IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Prior to her retirement, Betty worked for General Telephone Co. of IL(GTE). Then after she retired, she worked for Wal-Mart for over 20 years, and you could find her with a big smile and a friendly “hello”, as you walked through the doors of  Wal-Mart. Betty was a member of First Christian Church in Lincoln, IL and a member of  Women of the Moose in Moberly. She loved to cook and bake pies for fundraisers for the Children’s Miracle Network along with others. Betty also loved sewing and was just a kind and loving women. There wasn’t a person she didn’t make as a friend.  

Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation held in the Cater Funeral Home. Services honoring and celebrating Betty’s were held graveside in the Oakland Cemetery, Committal prayer and burial followed.
