Bernadine “Bernie” Joanne Seymour,68, passed away peacefully, September 8, 2025.
She was born, August 28, 1957, in Turlock, California, to Ed Nelson and Jean Patterson. Bernie grew up alongside her siblings Lori Godfrey, Lalonie Tipton, Lisa Meyer-Oliver, and Eddie Nelson. At the age of 12 she moved with her family to Missouri.
On May 24, 1975, Bernie married the love of her life, Roger Seymour. Together they built a beautiful family, raising three sons: Aaron (Sarina) Seymour, Brad (Roxanne) Seymour, and Kyle (Catrina) Seymour. She was a proud grandmother to Natalie, Madelynn, Logan, Sophia, and great grandchild Julia.
Bernie dedicated her life to her faith, being baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 10, 1972. Her devotion to Jehovah and her assured hope in the resurrection brought her strength and peace throughout her life. She also had a passion for sharing the comfort found in the Bible, spending many years in full-time service, helping others to learn the truth.
Those who knew Bernie will remember her for her unwavering positivity, her self-sacrificing spirit, and her deep love for family. She cherished simple joys—Sunday dinners, sitting on the front porch swing, cheering on the Cardinals, traveling, being near the ocean, and going to the movies with family.
Bernie leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness. She will be remembered not only for her devotion to her family but also for her tireless efforts to help others and her steadfast trust in Jehovah’s promises.
Roger and the family would like to thank everyone for the love and support shown during this difficult time. A memorial service was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
