Obituary

Albert Chirillo, 95, of Moberly, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021. He was born on July 17, 1925 in Motta Santa Lucia, Italy to Francesco and Delfilia Chirillo.

Albert came to the United Sates with his mother Delfilia in 1930. His father was already in the United States working along with his two older brothers Sam Saverio and Joe Jossepie.

Albert married Virginia Armstrong on October 25, 1948 and she passed away June 15, 2008. Also preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, a sister Palma Rende and some nephews and nieces.

As a teenager, he joined the Navy and received his honorable discharge in 1945. Albert worked for the Northern Western Railway for 40 years and retired on December 8, 1986.  He was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church.

On May 23, 2015 he married Patsy Lange and she survives of the home. Also surviving are his son Phil Chirillo of Moberly, two grandchildren Tony Chirillo and his wife Jennifer of Sturgeon, and Sarah Snyder and her husband Nathan of Cairo, four great grandchildren; Ethan, Aaron and Ariyah Snyder and Aspen Chirillo, two nephews; Ron and Arnold Chirillo and a niece Pam Mallory, other relatives and friends.

Private services honoring Albert’s life with Military Honors were held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel.  A private committal prayer and burial was in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
