Obituary

Sharon Kay Palmatory, 78, of Moberly died Monday, July 1, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born October 25, 1940 in Higbee, MO to Leonard and Hollene (Cleeton) Simms. 

Prior to retirement she was a librarian at the Mountain View Christian Academy in Winchester, VA.

She married Thomas “Tom” Larner on April 19, 2011, and he survives.  Also surviving are her children, Kevin Palmatory and his wife Melissa of Moberly, Melissa Ronan and her husband James of Naples, FL, Lori Peter and her husband Roger of Bevier and Kyle Palmatory and his wife Sharon of Morgantown, WV, 8 grandchildren; Michael Palmatory, Dustin Roberts, Bethany Roberts, Sean Palmatory, Matthew Peter and his wife Penny, Andrew Peter, Aaron Peter and Georgia Kay Palmatory, 4 great-grandchildren, a brother, Sheral Simms and his wife Linda of Climax Springs, MO, special friend Anne Menear of Moberly, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband of 50 years, Thomas G “Tommy” Palmatory.

Sharon was a lifetime member of Sweet Adelines International, and the founder of the Shenandoah Valley Chapter of Sweet Adelines in Winchester, VA.  She was a member of the Southern Randolph Christian Chapel in Higbee, MO.  She was a wonderful mother, wife, mother-in-law, and Nana. 

Services honoring and celebrating Sharon’s life were held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel.  Committal prayers and burial followed in the Higbee City Cemetery.
